Mesa ni Misis
Our flagship program features a talk on healthy eating, nutrition, and how we can use food to prevent illness and heal our bodies. We offer a mobile soup kitchen so that attendees can taste the incredibly simple and healthy recipes we prepare. Each is customized to the audience in either English or Tagalog. Specific concerns can also be addressed. If food sampling is not allowed, a cold preparation is done to show the steps and present a finished product.
Mommy si Misis
Healthy children begin un utero, with a healthy mother consuming a nutritious diet. Expectant mothers are guided to eat healthy food while pregnant, pregnancy myths are debunked and old healing remedies are revisited. Mothers are also taught how to start feeding babies solid food that brings the most nutrition as they grow and develop.
Mesa ni Misis Emergency Relief
In times of crisis, Mesa Ni Misis responds with a mobile soup kitchen that can be in place to feed those who are displaced to share a nutritious meal with them. We also aim to create relief packages that contain food that will nourish the body and not just provide a temporary fix. Items are delivered in reusable packaging that don’t run the risk of creating more plastic pollution.
Soap for Hope
Mesa ni Misis has partnered with Diversey to run the Soap for Hope program. Diversey is an international hygene company that provides soaps and cleaning products to the world’s top hotels. Mesa Ni Misis conducts Make and Take workshops in communities wherein participants make soap for their own use.
