Singkamas, or Jicama as it’s known in the West is a beloved snack of Filipinos. Eaten with vinegar and salt to, salt with sugar, bagoong, you name it, we eat it! It has recently gained popularity as the new ‘it food’ with wellness doctors such as Dr. Axe. As if you need another reason to enjoy it, we will give you another one with our singkamas fries!
- 3 cups singkamas, sliced into sticks
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 to 1 1/2 tsp olive oil
In a bowl, toss together the oil salt, pepper, cumin and pakrika together.The oil should only lightly coat the singkamas
In a baking sheet, lay out the singkamas.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. You will see the sticks dry up a little.
